Storia Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Storia ("Storia", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Storia iOS application.

Storia is designed as a private, local-first story journal. The application does not require an account, does not provide a social network, does not operate a cloud synchronization service, and does not upload your personal stories, photographs, voice notes, or generated videos to our servers.

    In short: the personal content you create in Storia is
    designed to remain on your device unless you intentionally export or save
    content using an iOS system feature such as Photos or Files.
  

2. Information You Create

Storia allows you to create and store personal journal content locally, including:

Story names;
Story start dates;
Optional story cover photos;
Memory titles;
Memory dates;
Memory captions;
Photographs selected from your device;
Voice notes recorded through the app;
Video configuration and rendering information;
Videos generated by the app.

This information is intended to be stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to Storia servers.

3. Photos and Camera Access

Storia may request access to your Photos library when you choose an action that requires photographs, such as selecting photos for a memory, selecting images for a story, or saving a generated video.

Storia may request Camera access when you choose to capture a photograph using the camera.

Access is requested only when the corresponding feature is used. Storia does not use your camera or photo library in the background for unrelated purposes.

Photos used by Storia are processed locally on the device for the features you request, including story display and on-device video creation.

4. Microphone and Voice Notes

Storia may request microphone access when you choose to record an optional voice note for a memory.

Voice recordings are stored locally as part of your journal content. Storia does not upload your voice recordings to a Storia cloud service or use them for advertising or profiling.

5. On-Device Video Creation

Storia can create slideshow-style keepsake videos from photographs and memories selected by you.

Video rendering is performed on your device using the content you select. Storia does not send your personal photographs, captions, subtitles, or other personal story content to a third-party cloud service for video generation.

Available video options may include templates, aspect ratios, photo duration, subtitles, background music, and output resolution.

Optional background music can be imported from Files when you choose to use that feature. The imported file is processed locally for video rendering.

6. Files and Background Music

If you choose to add background music, Storia may use the iOS Files interface to allow you to select an audio file.

Storia processes the selected file locally for the requested video. Storia does not automatically scan your Files library or upload selected audio to our servers.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate rights to use any music or other audio you import into a video.

7. Generated Videos and Photos Export

Generated videos are stored locally within Storia's application storage and can be viewed in the in-app video library.

When you choose to save a generated video to Photos, iOS transfers the selected video according to the system's Photos framework and permissions.

Once you intentionally export or save content outside Storia, that content may be governed by the privacy practices of the destination service or application.

8. Notifications

Storia may request permission to send notifications.

Notifications may be used for app-related reminders or other functionality you explicitly enable. Notification permission is controlled through iOS.

You can change notification permissions at any time through your device's system settings.

9. App Tracking Transparency

Storia may request authorization through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework as part of the app's permission flow.

Storia does not use your personal journal content for targeted advertising, and your stories, photos, voice notes, and generated videos are not uploaded to Storia servers for advertising purposes.

You can manage tracking authorization through iOS settings.

10. Purchases and Points

Storia offers optional consumable Points through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

Available Points products may include Story Spark, Story Moments, Story Chapter, Story Collection, Story Archive, and Story Forever.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's applicable terms, payment processing, and privacy practices.

Storia does not receive your complete payment card information.

Points are consumable and are maintained locally for use within the app. Points are not a subscription, do not represent cash, and are not transferable between users or devices.

Because Points are local application data, deleting Storia may permanently remove unused Points. Storia does not provide a restore-purchases function for consumed or locally stored Points.

11. Data Stored Locally

Storia uses local device storage to maintain your journal and application state.

Depending on your use of the application, local data may include stories, memories, photos, voice notes, generated videos, preferences, rendering settings, and Points-related local state.

Storia does not operate a server-side account system for this information.

12. No Account or Social Network

Storia does not require you to create or maintain an account.

Storia does not provide a public social feed, user profiles, follower relationships, messaging, comments, or other social networking functions.

Content created in Storia is intended for your personal use.

13. Third-Party Services

Storia relies on Apple-provided system frameworks and App Store services where necessary to provide iOS functionality and process In-App Purchases.

These services may process information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Storia does not use third-party cloud services to upload your personal stories, photographs, voice recordings, or generated videos for storage or automated content generation.

14. Analytics and Advertising

Storia is designed around a private, local-first experience. We do not use your journal entries, photographs, voice notes, or generated videos to build advertising profiles.

If a future version introduces analytics, advertising, or another third-party service that materially changes how personal information is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that change becomes applicable.

15. Data Security

Storia is designed to minimize transmission of personal content by keeping journal data and media on the device.

However, no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or permanently available.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important personal content using Apple's available device backup or export features.

16. Deleting the App

Storia does not provide a cloud archive of your local journal.

Deleting the Storia application may permanently delete locally stored stories, memories, voice notes, generated videos, local Points, and other application data that has not been separately exported or saved elsewhere.

Please back up important content before deleting Storia.

17. Children's Privacy

Storia is intended for general personal journaling and archival use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a server-side account system.

Because Storia does not require an account or provide a social network, personal journal content is designed to remain on the user's device.

18. Your Choices

You control whether Storia can access certain device features.

You can grant or deny Camera access.
You can grant or deny Photos access.
You can grant or deny Microphone access.
You can grant or deny Notification access.
You can manage tracking authorization through iOS.
You can delete stories and memories within Storia.
You can delete the application and its local data through iOS.

19. International Users

Storia is designed to minimize the collection and transmission of personal information. Because the app does not operate a server-side account or cloud storage system for your journal content, your personal journal content is not routinely transferred to us.

Apple's services, including the App Store and system services, may process information according to Apple's own practices and applicable laws.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Storia, applicable laws, or our practices.

When changes are made, the updated version will be made available through the application or the location where this Privacy Policy is published.

The effective date at the beginning of this document indicates the latest revision.
